Cao: “Belt and Road” Opens Up a New Era of Mutual-Beneficial and Win-Win Globalization

  On 24 of January, Director General Cao Wenlian attended the 2rd Belt and Road Davos Roundtable Meeting held in Switzerland and spoke at the meeting. Cao pointed out, Belt and Road initiative as the “Chinese Plan” for promoting globalization of a new type, is for the common development of the whole world proposed by President Xi Jinping. For the past four years, achievements have been made benefitting people of different countries for the common development and prosperity. It is sufficient to say that the Belt and Road is a mutual-beneficial and win-win initiative. “Belt and Road” construction is a great long-term undertaking and calls for global efforts for sustainable promotion.
The meeting, jointly held by Tsinghua University, International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission and UNCTAD, is aimed at exchanging views on achievements regarding Belt and Road initiative and relevant actions that have been taken. More than 20 government and business leaders, experts and scholars including Secretary General of UNCTAD, President of Tsinghua University, Vice Secretary General of the UN, and etc. were present at the meeting. During his stay in Davos, Cao held in-depth discussions with Executive Vice Chancellor of Cambridge University and Director General of Investment Division of UNCTAD on developing deeper cooperation in the future.
